Before Reading
◆Talk about the book
It's good idea to talk with your child about the book before they read it.
①Look at the front and back covers together
- these give clues to what the book is about.
②Flick through the page and look at the quesstion.
Talk about dinosaurs.
Ask your child what they know about dinosaurs already.
Can they name any?
③Talk about what a habitat is.
Encourage your child to read the story at their own pace.

Callenge Word - Phonic skills
These words may be tricky for your child to read using their phonic skills but they are important for the meaning of the book.
Encourage your child to read these words by saying and blending the letter sounds as much as they can, then help them wiyh the tricky part ,or simply read the word to them.

普段私たちがカタカナ読みしている恐竜名と
なかり英語の発音違ったりするものもあるので
その辺も楽しんで読めますよ。
During Reading
Encourage your child to read at their own pace.
①If your child gets stuck on a word , prompt them to use their phonic skills to sound out the ketters or groups of letters and blend them to make the word,e.g. c-r-u-n-ch-i-ng becomes 'crunching'.
Encourage them to break longer words down into smaller chunks of known letter sounds.
②If your child is still struggling with the word, read the word to them.
This is perfectly OK and allows them to more on quickly with the story.
③Discuss any new or unfamiliar words within the context of the story to ensure that your child understands their meaning.

大きいけど恐竜の中ではさほど大きくもない感じです。

Triceratops means ' three-horned face'.

これは比較的言いやすいし聞き取りやすいっす。
顔にある3つの角が名の由来なんですなぁ。
サイっていくつあったっけ？？
Tyrannosaurus
みんな好きなティラノサウルス
有名にして人気者といった恐竜界のスター的存在かな？
もちろん肉食恐竜だよ！
この脚をみれば一目瞭然ですが走るのが速いのだ。

素早く走るためか、そんなに大きくないのです。
走りに特化したこの前傾姿勢すごいっす。

Tyrannosaurus means ' tyrant lizard'.
A tyrant is someone who is powerful and cruel.

この羽はコウモリのそれに近い感じっすかね。

ほほ～７ｍのモノが空飛んでると思うと・・・すごいなぁ。
グライダーに近いのでしょうか？
じゃないと羽を高速で動かさないといけないもんね（＾＾；）
